WATER! WHAT ABOUT DRINKING WATER? WATER! Drinking water
can become a BIG problem if you don not address the issue up front!
We take this problem seriously. Featherstone is serviced by a total
of 6 independent, shared well, deep water, drinking systems. As for
Phase III - we have a total of 4 wells, two of which have in excess
of 50 gallons per minute of flow! We use only 2 ¼" HDPE
pipe for delivery to a tap located where each lot joins the main roads.
This is the toughest and best pipe you can buy. Hedden Brothers Well
Drilling engineers all systems and provides full service. For complete
information on our water systems, please call for details. Also see
"Serious Questions for Serious Land Buyers" flyer included
in this information package.. WHILE EVEN THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN… Featherstone remains rock solid. Yes, it's been a tough few years; Two years of record droughts, two years of record rainfall the harsh winter of 2010-2011, the collapse in real estate and the deepest recession in our lifetimes. As result, the majority of newer developments and developers in Western North Carolina have gone into foreclosure. Many properties have been sold off at true fire sale prices by banks looking to liquidate and unload. This includes some of the very biggest with multiple projects. Yes, you can find some REAL cheap land out there in what may appear to be "good developments". Will the project maintain its integrity and the original visions? Will they deliver all they promised? Who will maintain the project? Just a couple of the many questions that remain to be answered. The old saying "you
get what you pay for" almost always comes to fruition. By contrast,
Featherstone is still owned by the Vernon's, its original developers
free and clear. Phase one and two sold out years ago and fast! In 2007
- 2008 we added Phase 3. Since late 2010 we have held all our remaining
parcels off the market. As of today, we are still not actively marketing
and are not exactly sure when we will resume our marketing efforts and
put the rest of the parcels "officially" back on the market.
However, we have updated our prices to reflect current market conditions
for those who continue to visit Featherstone with an interest to purchase.
Bottom line… everything is still for sale, we're just not listing, advertising
or promoting them at this time.
Featherstone… Simply the best! See tons of Photos, Videos of each parcel, Restrictive Covenants and more at: www.billvernon.com |
