The "Hidden Story" Behind "DOLPHIN REEF" The Artist's Statement Dolphins.. the oceans version of "man's best friend". For decades tales have been told of Dolphins coming to the rescue of shipwrecked sailors. Gently pushing them dazed or unconscious to nearby beaches, as well as protecting them from shark attacks. Yes we share a bond with these intelligent "beings". A bond perhaps better understood by them than by us! This sculpture is not just about Dolphins but other inhabitants of the reef as well. Within the piece I have hidden the head of a moray eel, four fish and a shark. The eel head can be seen to the lower right and just below the two fins.
